Military

Dear soldiers, all military, and their families,All soldiers and their families are welcome in our church, whether enlisted or officers. People of every race and ethnicity are shown the love of Jesus in our church. You may be a young single soldier, or married with children; you are all welcome. We want to meet the spiritual needs of soldiers and their families for whatever time they are stationed at Ft Bliss.

We are individuals, people just like you … drawn together to spiritually build up the military community by meeting them at their greatest point of need.

Vision

Within Walk-By-Faith International church there is a will, a desire and a movement that demonstrate God’s love and the gospel’s power impacting and transforming the lives of our nation’s military members and their families. Together we can see this community grow so that everyone in the global military community knows someone who truly follows Jesus. In doing so, we believe many will become followers of Christ who in turn evangelize and disciple others. Guided by these aspirations, we pursue our mission with humility, compassion, and excellence because the people whom we serve deserve nothing less.

Purpose
As the military ministry of Walk-By-Faith International Church is to fulfill the Great Commission in the power of the Holy Spirit by winning people to faith in Jesus Christ, building them in their faith and sending them to win and build others while helping the body of Christ to do evangelism and discipleship. Our active strategies address the spiritual needs of: cadets and midshipmen, newly assigned members to Fort Bliss, other active duty members assigned to Fort Bliss and El Paso, national guardsmen, reservists, veterans, retirees residing in El Paso, combat trauma and PTSD sufferers, spouses, marriages, and families.

The Need
The military people group consists of current members of the U.S. Armed Services (Active, Guard and Reserve), veterans and their families. Although endorsed military chaplains are primarily responsible to facilitate the religious needs of current military members, the need extends to all veterans and their families. More than 85 percent of our troops and their families live outside their assigned military installations in or near our local communities. The Department of Veterans Affairs projects there will be more that 21 million veterans as of 2017. The median military veteran population per U.S. county is 2,129.
